SOLUTIONS FOR RENEWED PROSPERITY
IN AMERICA
Most of the news in America today is full of economic woe and despair over the future. Unemployment in this country remains stubbornly high, fearful uncertainty roils our markets, and many American businesses are struggling to keep their doors open. As if that is not enough, now Europe seems perched on the edge of the fiscal cliff and we rightfully worry about the economic consequences caused by a meltdown across the Atantic. No wonder the headlines read so dire.
But, that's only one side of America's story right now. What is not being talked about is the incredible ingenuity, resilience, and will of the American people to fix our own problems. Sure, the headlines report on all of our problems, but they fail to mention the enormous opportunity within those problems just waiting to be realized and seized upon. We need to stop looking elsewhere for answers and start looking within for solutions that will make this country stronger and more prosperous than ever before. We are the only country on earth that can solve all of our own problems without relying on any other nations. American enterprise, American culture, American entrepreneurship and American invention are poised and ready to begin fixing this country. A new, two decade-long period of American hegemony, prosperity and growth is before us. We can seize it all on our own. We can control our own destiny. We just need to begin looking for the right solutions that will take advantage of the opportunity before us. This is my mission in Congress and this is why I have created this "Fix It' series.
Over the next nine episodes, I have offered a comprehensive, pro-active, solutions-based plan that will lay the foundation for a new, extended period of prosperity, security and hegemony for America. We can shape our own future if we learn from our past, find ways to work together and put policies into place that energize this country's greatest asset: the American people.
